Além de consultas a mapeamentos preexistentes, revisões bibliográficas e verificações em campo. Os limites foram traçados por equipes multidisciplinares distribuídas em diferentes partes do território. O projeto contribuiu na atualização do mapeamento da vegetação.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;BIOMA AMAZÔNIA :&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;O Bioma Amazônia ocupa cerca de 49% do território brasileiro abrangendo os Estados do Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima e parte dos Estados do Maranhão, Tocantins e Mato Grosso. A Amazônia possui a maior floresta tropical do mundo, equivalente a 1/3 das reservas de florestas tropicais úmidas que abrigam a maior quantidade de espécies da flora e da fauna. Contém 20% da disponibilidade mundial de água doce e grandes reservas minerais. A floresta Amazônica é auto-sustentável, ou seja, é um sistema que se mantém com seus próprios nutrientes num ciclo permanente. Existe um delicado equilíbrio nas relações das populações biológicas que são sensíveis à interferência humana. A Amazônia abriga uma infinidade de espécies vegetais e animais: 1,5 milhão de espécies vegetais catalogadas, 3 mil espécies de peixes, 950 tipos de pássaros, e ainda insetos, répteis e mamíferos. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;BIOMA CERRADO:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; O Bioma Cerrado ocorre principalmente no Planalto Central Brasileiro, estando presente em Goiás, Tocantins, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Maranhão, Piauí, Rondônia, São Paulo e Paraná, abrangendo aproximadamente 24% do território brasileiro. O Cerrado é reconhecido como a Savana mais rica do mundo em biodiversidade com a presença de diversas tipologias vegetais de riquíssima flora com mais de 10.000 espécies de plantas. A fauna apresenta 837 espécies de aves, 67 gêneros de mamíferos com 161 espécies, sendo que 19 delas só ocorrem nesse bioma, 150 espécies de anfíbios e 120 espécies de répteis. Até a década de 1950, os Cerrados mantiveram-se quase inalterados. A partir da década de 1960, com a transferência da Capital Federal, do Rio de Janeiro para Brasília, e a abertura de uma nova rede rodoviária, a cobertura vegetal natural cedeu lugar à pecuária e a agricultura intensiva. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</idAbs>
